Juice fasting is a gentle way to give the body a rest from solid food while still receiving concentrated nutrition. By taking in only fresh vegetable and fruit juices, digestion slows down, and the body can redirect energy towards cleansing, repair, and renewal. It is not a fad diet or a quick fix, but a well-established method to help the body restore balance.
When the digestive system is given a break, the body can start to clear out accumulated waste and toxins more efficiently. Many guests notice lighter energy, better sleep, brighter skin, and a clearer mind after just a few days. For others, it can be the first step towards weight loss, better digestion, or simply breaking unhealthy food patterns. Juice fasting nourishes without weighing the body down, helping you to feel refreshed, lighter, and more energised.
At Bronlara, all juices are freshly pressed, using organic produce wherever possible — much of it grown onsite. We never use supplements or powders; only whole, natural ingredients. Unlike attempting a juice fast at home, here you are fully supported and guided, so you don’t have to think about what to make or when. You simply relax, and we take care of it.
Your day begins with warm lemon water to gently wake up the system. From there, you can enjoy juices throughout the day — as much as you need, with flexibility in the types and combinations. Some guests prefer a lighter rhythm, others more frequent nourishment; either way, the juices are always available.
In the evening, you can choose how to close your day: another juice, a clear mineral-rich broth, or a comforting vegetable soup. All are vegan, fat-free, and designed to support cleansing while still providing warmth and grounding. The rhythm is structured enough to guide you, but always flexible enough to suit your needs.
Juice fasting can benefit most people. It is often chosen by those wanting a short, effective reset, or as a starting point before a deeper programme like the 369 Liver Cleanse. Guests come to improve energy, lose excess weight, reduce bloating, clear their skin, calm inflammation, or simply to pause and give their body a well-deserved break
As with all our retreats, taking part in a juice fast at Bronlara also makes you a Member of our Association. There are no obligations — just the reassurance of knowing you belong to a place you can return to whenever you need support, rest or renewal.
Water fasting is one of the most ancient methods of cleansing and has been practised for thousands of years across many cultures. Traditionally, it has been used as a way of resting the body and encouraging both physical and spiritual clarity.
At Bronlara, we generally discourage water fasting. Modern lifestyles mean most people carry higher levels of toxicity, and it is now rare to find someone who is not on long-term medication — both of which can make water fasting unnecessarily harsh or unsuitable.
That said, we do have experience supporting people through water fasts, and we are happy to provide guidance and a safe environment if this is the path you wish to follow. Please note, however, that we do not offer medical supervision.
A juice fast, in contrast, pauses digestion in much the same way while still delivering hydration, energy, and vital nutrients. For most people, it is a gentler and safer approach that still allows the body to reset and cleanse effectively.
During a juice fast, the body is releasing and rebalancing — and gentle movement can make the process smoother. We offer daily yoga and meditation to help you stretch, breathe, and stay centred, along with zumba sessions for those who enjoy something more energising.
Yoga is especially supportive while juice fasting: gentle stretches keep circulation flowing, ease tension, and help you connect with your body’s signals. Our small classes adapt to your energy levels, whether you feel like a soft flow or a deeper practice.
Fasting often brings clarity, but it can also stir emotions. Daily guided meditations offer calm and perspective, supporting both your body and mind through the process. No experience is needed — sessions are practical and open to everyone.
While a juice fast is not the moment for strenuous sport, light activity often feels good. You’ll have access to our mineral pool, gym, and nature trail, while tennis, pickleball, or basketball may be better saved for a future visit when your body is fully fuelled.
Some guests enjoy a burst of music and movement even while fasting. Zumba is always optional, and you can take it at your own pace — just enough to lift your spirits.
Every cleanse is personal. Some days you may feel energised to join a class, other days you may prefer quiet rest. We encourage you to follow your own pace — whether that means moving gently, meditating, or simply allowing yourself to recharge.
